Toyota has unveiled a new concept version of its Corolla Cross Hybrid, dubbed the Nasu Edition, designed to catch eyes and conquer terrain at the 2025 SEMA show in Las Vegas. Inspired by the adventurous spirit of Japan's Mount Nasu, this model showcases a striking aesthetic and enhanced off-road capabilities, promising to excite both car enthusiasts and outdoor adventurers alike.

The Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid Nasu Edition is set to make waves at the SEMA show with its bold purple wrap and a comprehensive body kit. This eye-catching vehicle features wider wheel arches and vibrant yellow tow hooks integrated into a restyled bumper, all designed to give the compact SUV a more rugged, adventurous profile. The purple and orange color transition of the wrap adds an extra layer of visual intrigue, paying homage to the name 'Nasu,' which means 'eggplant' in Japanese. This unique aesthetic choice underscores Toyota's commitment to blending cultural inspiration with modern design.

Beyond its striking appearance, the Nasu Edition is equipped for the outdoors. It rides on specially designed Toyota truck wheels paired with Toyo Open Country A/T III all-terrain tires, ensuring it can handle various landscapes with ease. A custom suspension lift enhances its off-road stance, while additional features like rock sliders and a roof rack with a cargo basket provide practicality for those weekend getaways. The front bumper is enhanced with auxiliary lighting, including thin rectangular lights and Rigid-branded fog lights, ensuring visibility in all conditions.

Inside, the Nasu Edition doesn't skimp on amenities designed for convenience and fun. A refrigerator in the cargo area, a custom drawer system, and a JBL speaker make it a versatile companion for any adventure. These features are complemented by illuminated door sills and puddle lamps, adding a touch of luxury to the functionality. The tailgate, equipped with a fire extinguisher, highlights Toyota's focus on safety alongside comfort and style.

Despite its many enhancements, the Nasu Edition retains the Corolla Cross Hybrid's original powertrain—a 2.0-liter inline-four engine combined with three electric motors, delivering a total of 196 horsepower. While the modifications might affect its standard performance metrics, including the 42-mpg combined rating, they provide a unique blend of efficiency and capability. Developed by Toyota's Service Parts and Accessories Development, this concept car not only highlights the potential for future aftermarket offerings but also hints at Toyota's ongoing commitment to innovation in hybrid technology.

A purple wrap with yellow tow hooks? Must be the pinnacle of aerodynamic and structural engineering... or maybe just a flashy gimmick.

i guess the Nasu Edition is like that friend who shows up to a camping trip in designer gear—looks good, but wonder if it can climb rocks? lol

Can it really handle off-road trails or is this just for show?
