In a move that underscores its competitive edge in the electric vehicle market, Geely has officially launched the 2026 version of its popular Geome Xingyuan compact hatchback in China. This new model boasts an attractive starting price of just 68,800 yuan, or about $9,670 USD, with a limited-time offer reducing the entry price to 65,800 yuan, approximately $9,260 USD. The model is available in six variants, catering to a wide range of consumer preferences and needs.

The 2026 Geome Xingyuan introduces two range options, offering consumers the choice between a 310 km and a 410 km range, as per the CLTC cycle. These variations are powered by either a 58 kW or an 85 kW motor, paired with a 30.12 kWh or a 40.16 kWh LFP battery, respectively. The batteries, supplied by CATL, feature a liquid cooling temperature management system, ensuring efficiency and reliability. A standout addition to the lineup is the Star Limited Edition, which draws inspiration from the Smart #1 Brabus, featuring distinctive styling elements like a red roof and red seatbelts. This edition is limited to 1,000 units and is priced at 98,800 yuan ($13,900 USD), or 95,800 yuan ($13,470 USD) during the promotional period.

Maintaining its signature rounded design, the Geome Xingyuan's 2026 model incorporates subtle updates from its predecessor. It features a closed front grille, L-shaped daytime running lights, and semi-hidden door handles, enhancing its sleek appearance. The vehicle also offers new color options, 'Chanson Purple' and 'Cocoa Beige,' free for 2025 buyers, expanding the palette to eight choices. Measuring 4,135 mm in length, 1,805 mm in width, and 1,570 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,650 mm, the Xingyuan is compact yet spacious. It provides a 375-liter rear trunk and a 70-liter front trunk, with the rear seats folding to increase capacity to about 1,320 liters.

Inside, the Geome Xingyuan continues to impress with a user-friendly cabin layout, featuring an 8.8-inch instrument cluster and a central screen available in either 10.1 or 14.6 inches, depending on the trim. The infotainment system, powered by Flyme Auto, includes customizable wallpapers, dual-zone voice control, smartphone integration via Flyme Link, and a 540° panoramic camera system. Standard features across all trims enhance convenience and safety, such as six airbags, a dual-mode rear tailgate with electric and anti-pinch functions, and wireless fast charging capabilities up to 50W.

The Geome Xingyuan is positioned to compete fiercely in China's small EV segment, going head-to-head with models like the BYD Seagull and Wuling Binguo Plus. Geely reports that the Xingyuan series has surpassed 400,000 units in cumulative sales since its initial launch, highlighting its popularity and acceptance in the market. The model's competitive pricing and diverse offerings make it a strong contender for consumers seeking affordable, efficient electric vehicles.

In the context of China's broader EV market, the Geome Xingyuan has been a significant player, as reflected in its robust sales figures. In the first half of 2025, the Xingyuan was the bestselling model, with 204,940 units sold, outpacing competitors like the BYD Seagull and Tesla Model Y. This performance underscores Geely's strategic positioning and the increasing preference for domestic brands in China's rapidly expanding new energy vehicle sector.

As Geely continues to innovate and expand its lineup, the 2026 Geome Xingyuan represents a key milestone in its commitment to sustainability and innovation. With ongoing advancements in battery technology and a keen understanding of consumer demands, Geely is poised to maintain its leadership in the electric vehicle market, not just in China but potentially on a global scale.
