Dongfeng's premium brand Voyah has announced the pre-sale of its latest plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV), the Passion L. With its expansive 5.1-meter frame, advanced Huawei technologies, and a substantial 1,400 km range, this vehicle marks a significant stride in hybrid automotive technology.
Unveiled on September 26, the Voyah Passion L, known in China as the Zhuiguang L, is set to redefine expectations in the PHEV market. This sleek sedan stretches over five meters and integrates state-of-the-art technology, including a 5C battery and Huawei's Qiankun ADS 4 system. The pre-sale offers consumers a chance to secure this innovative vehicle with a deposit of 2000 yuan, approximately 280 USD, which also provides a discount off the final price. The official launch is anticipated in the fourth quarter, promising an enticing addition to the electric vehicle landscape.
The dimensions of the Voyah Passion L are impressive, at 5125 mm in length, 1985 mm in width, and 1505 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3010 mm. This is a slight increase from its predecessor, the Voyah Passion, highlighting a more spacious and comfortable interior. The design overhaul features a striking front grille with 34 vertical chrome strips and redesigned split-layout headlights. The rear maintains its characteristic through-type taillights, providing a cohesive yet distinct aesthetic.
Under the hood, the Passion L impresses with its hybrid system combining a 1.5T engine and dual electric motors. The internal combustion engine delivers 110 kW, while the electric motors provide outputs of 150 kW and 230 kW respectively. This setup allows for a CLTC pure electric range of 410 km and extends to an impressive 1,400 km when combined with its hybrid capabilities. The vehicle's efficiency is further enhanced by a WLTC fuel consumption rate of 5.67 L per 100 km.
The integration of Huawei's technology does not stop at driving assistance. The vehicle features the HarmonySpace 5.0 smart cockpit, equipped with a 16.1-inch 3K central control screen and an LCD instrument panel. This high-tech interior is designed to enhance the driving experience with features like wireless charging panels, ambient lighting, and a premium audio system with 23 speakers. The cockpit also boasts a 6.6L refrigerator and seating that includes heating, ventilation, and massage functions, setting a new standard for luxury in PHEVs.
As the electric vehicle market continues to grow, the Voyah Passion L positions itself as a pioneer in integrating cutting-edge technology with sustainable mobility. Its 5C supercharging capability allows for rapid battery charging—from 20% to 80% in just 12 minutes—making it practical for everyday use while maintaining an eco-friendly footprint. This feature is particularly appealing as consumers increasingly look for efficient yet environmentally conscious options.
Looking ahead, the Voyah Passion L's release is poised to make waves in both domestic and international markets. With its advanced technology and luxurious features, it represents a significant step forward for Dongfeng's Voyah in the competitive PHEV sector. As the automotive industry continues to evolve, vehicles like the Passion L will likely shape the future of hybrid and electric transportation, offering a glimpse into what is possible when innovation meets sustainability.
