Changan has officially launched pre-orders for its latest all-electric SUV, the Nevo Q05. This vehicle is set to make waves in the electric vehicle (EV) market with its cutting-edge technology and competitive pricing. As an export model, the Nevo Q05 is poised to capture interest not only in China but internationally.
A Technological Powerhouse
The Changan Nevo Q05 is equipped with a 4nm automotive-grade MT8676 cockpit chip from MediaTek, a first in the automotive industry. This chip enhances the vehicle’s digital ecosystem with 5G connectivity, ensuring seamless integration with popular mobile platforms such as Huawei HiCar, CarPlay, CarLink, and Honor Connect. Inside the cabin, a 15.6-inch 2.5K central control screen provides an interface for drivers and passengers to interact with the vehicle's advanced features.
Under the hood, the Nevo Q05 is powered by an electric motor capable of delivering up to 120 kW (161 hp). It is paired with either a 40.29 kWh or a 51.91 kWh Jinzhongzhao battery pack, manufactured with LFP cells supplied by CATL. These configurations provide a range of up to 506 km on a single charge, catering to both urban commuters and long-distance travelers. The vehicle supports 3C fast charging technology, allowing the battery to recharge from 30% to 80% in just 15 minutes.
The Nevo Q05's dimensions stand at 4435/1855/1600 mm with a wheelbase of 2735 mm, offering ample space for passengers. The interior is designed with comfort and convenience in mind, featuring 8-point massage, ventilation, and heating functions for the front seats. The co-pilot seat includes a leg rest and can recline to a maximum angle of 165°, providing a luxurious travel experience.
Changan offers the Nevo Q05 in five exterior colors: green, purple, silver, gray, and white. The vehicle features a standard trunk volume of 540 L, expandable to 1,380 L by folding down the rear seats. For those opting for the high-end trim, the SUV is equipped with a sophisticated sensor suite, including a roof-mounted lidar, 11 high-definition cameras, three millimeter-wave radars, and 12 ultrasonic radars, enabling advanced driving assistance on highways and urban roads.
Pricing for the Nevo Q05 is expected to be competitive, with estimates ranging from 110,000 to 130,000 yuan (approximately $15,400 to $18,200 USD). Changan is offering early adopters a discount of 2,000 yuan (about $280 USD) off the purchase price in China for those who pay a 199 yuan ($28 USD) deposit. This strategic pricing positions the Nevo Q05 as an attractive option for budget-conscious consumers looking for an advanced electric vehicle.
Globally, the Nevo Q05 represents Changan's commitment to innovation and its ambition to expand its footprint in the international EV market. The combination of advanced technology, practical design, and competitive pricing is expected to appeal to a broad range of consumers, setting a new standard for electric SUVs worldwide.
