The automotive industry is witnessing a significant technological advancement with the pre-sale launch of the Avatr 12 Four-LiDAR Edition. This new mid-to-large-sized sedan is set to redefine autonomous driving and in-car technology, featuring an array of sophisticated sensors and systems powered by Huawei.

Avatr's latest offering, the 12 Four-LiDAR Edition, stands out with its advanced sensor suite, which includes four LiDAR sensors strategically placed around the vehicle. These sensors are integral to the vehicle's upgraded Huawei Qiankun ADS 4+ intelligent driving system, promising enhanced autonomous capabilities. The front bumper hosts a 96-line lidar, while the remaining three solid-state lidars are positioned on the front fenders and rear bumper, offering a comprehensive view for the driving system. The model comes with features like Parking Valet Assist (VPD) 2.0, and the new 'Vitality Wellness Cabin', which aims to enhance the passenger experience.

The Avatr 12 is not just about advanced autonomous driving; it is also a marvel in design and dimensions. At 5020mm in length, 1999mm in width, and 1460mm in height, with a 3020mm wheelbase, it offers a robust and spacious exterior. The design includes optional 'swirl-blade' wheels and a choice of traditional or electronic rearview mirrors. Notably, the rear forgoes a traditional window for a streaming media rearview mirror, while an active retractable spoiler enhances aerodynamics.

Inside the Avatr 12, technology takes the forefront with a 35.4-inch 4K integrated remote screen that substitutes the conventional instrument cluster. This setup, alongside a 15.6-inch central control screen powered by Huawei’s HarmonyOS Cockpit 5, offers an immersive infotainment experience. The system supports 5G connectivity, advanced voice and gesture controls, and a comprehensive in-car biological monitoring system, ensuring both convenience and safety for all passengers.

In terms of acoustics, every Avatr 12 model comes standard with a state-of-the-art 25-speaker Meridian sound system, promising an exceptional auditory experience. The Max/Ultra versions feature an intelligent induction electric door set, while the Master version includes a four-zone air conditioning system with a rear armrest screen, catering to a more personalized passenger experience.

Under the hood, the Avatr 12 offers multiple powertrain options, including both extended-range and pure electric variants. The extended-range version is equipped with a 1.5T engine and a robust electric drive motor, providing a combined range of 1270 km. The pure electric variant offers configurations in both single-motor rear-wheel and dual-motor all-wheel drives, boasting a CLTC range of up to 755 km, showcasing Avatr's commitment to range efficiency and performance.

Avatr's strategic partnership with Huawei brings a new era of smart vehicles, integrating technological advancements that set new benchmarks in autonomous driving and in-car systems. As pre-orders open, the Avatr 12 Four-LiDAR Edition not only symbolizes innovation but also reflects the evolving expectations of modern consumers towards smarter and safer vehicles.

Four LiDAR sensors seem like overkill, but it might boost system redundancy. Curious if the Qiankun ADS 4+ can handle complex urban navigation.
