The electric vehicle (EV) industry in China is poised for another exciting development as Avatr, a brand co-created by Changan, CATL, and Huawei, prepares to launch its 2026 Avatr 07 model. Scheduled for release on September 20, this model promises to bring innovative features and advancements that could further shake up the competitive EV market.
The 2026 Avatr 07 will come equipped with the Huawei Qiankun ADS 4 driving assistance system as a standard feature across all trims, marking a significant technological stride in the realm of smart driving. This system is expected to enhance the vehicle's autonomous driving capabilities, providing a safer and more efficient driving experience. The new model maintains the design ethos of its predecessor but introduces a striking new 'Sky Blue' color option, adding a fresh aesthetic appeal to its lineup.
Inside, the Avatr 07 has been upgraded with the HarmonyOS Smart Cockpit OS 5, a move that underscores Avatr's commitment to integrating advanced technology with everyday usability. The vehicle's interior features, such as soft-close doors, dual zero-gravity massage seats, and a luxurious Meridian 25-speaker audio system, are now standard, offering an elevated driving experience. Additionally, electronic rearview mirrors and a smart driving indicator light improve functionality, while an optional in-car refrigerator caters to convenience.
Powertrain options for the 2026 Avatr 07 include both pure electric (EV) and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) configurations, each powered by CATL batteries. The EREV variant, available in rear-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive setups, features a 1.5T range extender with a maximum output of 115 kW. The rear-wheel-drive model boasts a drive motor producing up to 231 kW, while the four-wheel-drive version adds a front-axle motor delivering an additional 131 kW. This configuration offers a combined range of up to 1,200 km, supported by a new 52 kWh CATL 'Freevoy Hybrid Battery.'
The pure electric version of the Avatr 07 is built on an 800V silicon carbide platform, emphasizing efficiency and performance. The rear-wheel-drive model offers a power output of 252 kW, while the four-wheel-drive version features dual motors with a combined output of 440 kW. Both variants are equipped with an 82.16 kWh CATL Shenxing Supercharging Battery, allowing for a maximum CLTC-rated range of 650 km for the rear-wheel-drive and 610 km for the four-wheel-drive model. The high charging power of up to 420 kW ensures rapid recharging, meeting the demands of modern EV users.
Set against the backdrop of China's rapidly evolving EV landscape, the Avatr 07 represents a union of advanced technology and sustainable energy solutions. As competition intensifies among Chinese automakers, the introduction of the Avatr 07 with its sophisticated features and robust performance capabilities underscores the brand's strategic focus on innovation and customer-centric design. The upcoming launch is expected to further enhance Avatr's market position and contribute to the growing global shift towards greener transportation solutions.
